OUR BELIEFS
- The Bible is God’s inspired words to all mankind, totally true and trustworthy, without any mixture of error, authoritative, and is sufficient for every aspect of a believer’s faith life.
- That there is only one true God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
- The deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death through His shed blood at the cross, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return to earth in power and glory.
- That our first parents (Adam and Eve) sinned against God and that everyone since is a sinner by nature and choice. All of our being is stained by sin (e.g. reasoning, desires, will and emotions). We cannot and do not desire to come to God because of our sin.
- That God in His extraordinary love and mercy, for His good pleasure alone, has chosen to draw His people to Himself for salvation. The salvation of lost and sinful people takes place because of God’s gracious rebirth that enables His people to enjoy repentance of our sin and to have faith in Jesus Christ as the only way of salvation. The salvation of His people is by grace alone, and this grace is given through the preaching and hearing of the gospel. The true salvation of God’s people shines through in their ongoing repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ that leads to a life of good works.
- That the gospel should be passionately and urgently proclaimed to all people so that, by the regenerating power of God’s Spirit, those who believe will be saved through the hearing of God’s Word.
- That true believers who are regenerated by God’s Spirit will be kept by Him throughout their lives, as evidenced by personal transformation that includes an ever-growing love of God the Father, adoration of the Son and empowerment by God the Spirit, love of brothers and sisters in the church, and love of lost neighbors in the world.
- That the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life and glorify Jesus Christ. We reject the teaching of a “second baptism” and believe that all true believers are fully indwelt with God’s sufficient Spirit so that every believer is complete in Jesus Christ.
- In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; that true followers of Christ are saved to the resurrection of life and that they who are lost to an everlasting hell.
- In the spiritual unity of all true believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
- In the importance of believer’s baptism and that all true believers in Christ are to be continually participating in the ordinance of communion with humility, thankfulness, unity and clean hearts.
- That worship of God is the purpose for which people were created, and that lasting joy is only to be found by delighting in God through all of life, including hardships and death.
